1. Many problems, especially those encountered by beginners, may have already been resolved, so we recommend that you use the search function before posting your query. In most cases, this is quicker  than having to wait for a reply.

2. What category does my post fit into? Questions can be answered much more quickly if you post your query in the correct category.

3. The title of the thread should be meaningful and concise and must, above all, aptly indicate the gist of the problem. “Beginner seeks help” or “Problem”, for example, are not useful titles.

4. Please provide an accurate description of the problem and ask specific questions that do not require a response the length of a novel! Questions such as “Import not working. What could be causing this?” are too general and not particularly helpful in responding to your question quickly.

It is helpful if you include the file type and version, together with any error messages received. For installation problems, you should provide information about the version, error message and operating system..

5. Punctuation as well as the appropriate use of upper and lowercase facilitates legibility. However, more then one question mark or exclamation mark per sentence is really not necessary..

6. Once the query is resolved, the “Solved” box should be checked so that nobody continues to spend time thinking of a solution.

7. We try to answer questions as quickly as possible. But sometimes we may not be able to answer your question as quickly as we like. If you do not receive an answer to your question within a day, please be patient.

8. Additional comments like “HELP!” and “URGENT!” are superfluous (and may even compromise the motivation to respond).

9. A friendly tone and clear description of the problem increase your chances of receiving helpful contributions from other users.

10. Once a question has been answered, the question cannot be deleted – the posting of questions and answers is what makes the forum.  E-mails and telephone calls in relation to the deletion a post are therefore futile.

11. Should a contribution be offensive or inappropriate, etc., you can use the “Report” feature to advise us so that we may take the necessary steps.
